Faller Training and Re-Certification
New Faller Training 30 Day Course
- All materials Work Safe BC and BC Forest Safety Council approved.
- New Faller Training Course with certified instructors.
- All participants go through a 5 day assessment period where they demonstrate skill ability to instructor to see if competent mentally and physically for NFT. From this 5 day period successful participants receive Basic Chain Saw Certificate .
- Approved participants then proceed with 25 days of one on one training in the field with instructor to complete N.F.T.
- All successful participant receive skills record book on completion
Faller: Re- Certification process
- Work place regulations require valid certification as a faller.
- Acts as documentation from a neutral party that proper procedures are being performed .
- The BC Forest Safety Council requires that all fallers be re-evaluated once every 3 years.
QST Consulting Ltd provides this service.
- This service helps the faller to ensure that the BC Faller Training Standard is been followed and ensures the faller is following safe work procedures when falling and bucking and performing site and tree hazards assessments .
- This service can also upgrade individual faller certification cards upon request.
Skills Assessment
- This process is mandatory if the fallers wishes to by pass New Faller Training Course and has 2 years documented past falling experience prior to 2006.
- This skills assessment process is a all day evaluation if the faller in a forestry operation environment.
- Auditor discusses your knowledge of the worker along with testing his knowledge on his equipment ,Safety Procedures, Emergency Response Plan, Site assessment Block hazard recognition and chain saw skills. Successfully completing this worker to complete a 50 question written exam with 75% pass. Then proceeds to demonstrate the falling of 10 trees standards using the BC Fallers Training Standard evaluation form.
- Participant requires 75% pass grade to become certified faller.
